Material Matters
A collaborative installation that took place at the Ohio Art League in the fall of 2009. The interior of the gallery space was replicated in the 3-D modeling program Rhinoceros and then given an flowing, amorphous skin. Using the same computer program and a CNC mill, interlocking pieces of cardboard were generated and then assembled in such a way that the gallery space was completely covered with a grid of small spaces. The cardboard cubicles were then individually filled with a single candle and under the cover of dark and unsuspected by the gallery administration, every candle was carefully lit and then documented by the participants of the collaboration.
